Musicians and Musician Wannabe’s
We are building instruments from found objects during the workshops. We will play these instruments as part of the pageant. There will be a blurred distinction between puppeteer and musician, and in many cases both may be the same person. Musicians we are seeking include those with drumming and percussion skills, melodic improvisation skills, a good ear for sound effects, and a love of tinkering. Experience with hand-made instruments is a real plus.
Puppet Designers and Builders
Expert puppet makers will guide you through the steps required to conceive and construct musical instruments that are disguised as puppets. The dual purpose of these objects will become clear as we put together the final pageant narrative.
A Note on Age Restrictions
Puppetry is not just for kids! Participants should be young adults (14 or older) to get the most out of the workshops and performances. We are especially interested in those with prior experience in music or theatre (e.g., wardrobe/costume designers, technical theatre, choreography, stagecraft, and similar backgrounds).
Kids 6 or older
Children of this age are also welcome at our child-friendly event, Wednesday August 18, 2:00p - 4:00p, and may also participate in the rehearsals and the public performances with adult supervision.

Musicians we will contact you for a brief interview within a day or two.

There is no charge for the workshops or for the pageant performances.
